This third webcast will get into more details about preparing the Form 5500 and getting ready for the new electronic filing system (EFAST2). An important part of the changes to the 2009 Form 5500 involves the Schedule C and the impact on 403(b) plans. The webcast will discuss guidance issued by the Department on these two important changes. Along with the form changes, the ERISA Filing Acceptance System (EFAST) is being modernized. The new filing system, EFAST2, will receive only electronic filing submissions. The webcast will address the more detailed questions people have asked and provide practical tips for preparing to use the new system. |

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) provides for premium assistance for health benefits under COBRA. For coverage periods beginning on or after February 17, 2009, assistance eligible individuals pay only 35% of their continuation coverage premiums to the plan. The remaining 65% is reimbursed to the plan, employer, or health insurance issuer through a payroll tax credit.
This free 90-minute COBRA workshop will discuss the new COBRA provisions including:
Which qualified beneficiaries are eligible for the COBRA premium reduction?
How does the premium reduction work?
How long can a qualified beneficiary get the premium reduction?
How does the new 60-day extended election period work and who can use it to elect COBRA coverage?
What new COBRA notices are employers required to provide?
What penalties apply if an employer or plan administrator fails to comply?
